Design prize nomination for coldblack

03/09/2009

Schoeller and Clariant’s Coldblack technology has been nominated for the Design Preis Schweiz 2009.

The technology is one of 36 chosen from more than 300 projects submitted for the biennial prize, which awards products that have made a significant impression on the market.

Coldblack is a textile finishing technology that reduces the absorption of solar rays so that dark textiles, in particular, heat up less when exposed to sunlight. It also provides protection from harmful UV rays. Regardless of their colour, all textiles with the coldblack finish feature a UV protection factor of at least 30.

Prize winners will be announced on November 6.
