Sustainability is key for creora in Paris

In a bid to make sustainability a major focus at Paris Mode City (September 5-7), Hyosung is presenting its creora eco collection including creora H-550 and Mipan regen recycled nylon and polyester for the swim and intimate markets.

Its creora H-550 is a new low settable spandex designed to save energy in knitting. It gives fabrics a soft touch, reduces yellowing, delivers whiter whites and results in less fabric curling with improved moulding and chlorine resistance. It can also be re-dyed and over-dyed and can be blended with other eco-friendly fibres such as organic cotton, Modal, Promodal and Tencel. For use in swimwear and activewear, it can be blended with polypropylene to create quick-drying, lightweight performance fabrics, or in two-sided/double-faced constructions with polyester for a moisture management effect.

Hyosung’s Mipan regen recycled nylon uses post consumer waste from fishing nets to produce nylon with the same colour quality, consistency and uniformity as standard nylon. Regen nylon and polyester reduce energy consumption and waste to landfill as well as conserving petroleum resources.

The company is presenting its Eco-Panda swimwear collection at the Paris event. The range uses Mipan regen recycled nylon and chlorine resistant creora. “We are very excited by the new Eco-Panda line which is the first earth-friendly and fashion forward swimwear using post-consumer Miopan regen recycled nylon and creora elastane,” says Ria Stern, global marketing director Hyosung.  “We believe this new swimwear collection will resonate with consumers as they will respond to the styling as well as the concept that some of the recycled nylon comes from fishing nets used in the ocean and will be regenerated into swimwear for the ocean.”
