Scottish tennis player Andy Murray is to sign a new £3 million-a-year ($5 million) sponsorship deal with German sportswear brand adidas.

According to reports, the current world number two could see this payout double if he is able to reach the top spot.

Murray has decided to wear the three-stripes despite reportedly receiving offers from other brands including Nike, which sponsors Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal.

The 22-year-old is expected to sign the deal after the US Open, which ends September 13.
