NanoSphere protects high-quality wool and silk

Switzerland-based Schoeller has announced that its NanoSphere technology is now available for use on high-end wool and silk garments. Whether it is salad dressing spilled down a silk tie or coffee splashed onto a fine wool suit, the company claims its invisible protection can prevent embarrassing staining.

“Due to the clever self-cleaning effect, most substances simply run off the chic suit, shirt, tie or casual jacket,” says the company. “Even ketchup and honey can be removed quite simply.” It adds: “Due to the extremely high level of water repellence, high-quality woollen coats or loden jackets are also protected from moisture and dirt.”

The textile technology is based on modern nanotechnology and offers self-cleaning, oil and water repellence and high abrasion resistance as well as being free of PFOA and PFOS compounds.
