MBT has appointed Jan Stig Andersen as its new chief executive officer. Mr Andersen most recently served as CEO at Denmark-based textile firm BTX Group. Prior to that he served as CEO of Ecco North America, where he was also member of the management board and executive vice president of sales, retail and marketing.

According to Hermann Oberschneider, chairman of MBT’s board of directors, the new appointment will be an important change for the group. “We are confident that Jan Stig Andersen’s experience, proven track record of achievement and passion will expand MBT’s footprint around the world,” he says. “Jan Stig Andersen has a strong understanding of the product, market and of the consumer. Based on MBT’s unique product and the company’s efficient operational set-up, implemented during the latest years, we are convinced that MBT is ready to begin a new chapter and Jan Stig Andersen is the right man to create the foundation for further growth.”

Mr Andersen replaces interim CEO Ken Pucker, who has been leading MBT over the past year. “We are grateful to Ken for his commitment and vast contributions. He has successfully led a transformation of MBT, from a tremendous product to a well-run company. The operational standards and go-to-market vision that Ken leaves behind will put MBT in good stead for the future,” says Mr Oberschneider.
