Argo embraces “breakthrough technologies”

Argo Workwear, a Indonesian work and corporatewear textile manufacturer, is targeting the European market with a new fabric range, focusing on developments with Dow XLA fibre from Dow Fiber Solutions. These innovations will be on show at A+A Düsseldorf, 3-6 November on the Argo Workwear Hall 5 stand A17.
“Argo has an established reputation for producing high quality workwear fabrics,” said Peter Cook, the company’s Europe and US business manager. “We are focusing on a new generation of poly-cotton blends with DOW XLA stretch fibre, with the option to add EPIC encapsulating technology for all-weather protection and ‘indoor outdoor’ clothing. The whole range has been tested to withstand high temperature laundering and tunneling.”
The company believes that Dow XLA adds value to uniforms and other garments by providing soft stretch for comfort and unrestricted movement, and an inherent resistance to the high temperatures and harsh chemicals used in typical industrial laundering.
"The partnership between Argo and Dow Fiber Solutions is a plus for the entire workwear industry," said Cathy Knowles, Dow Fiber Solutions global marketing manager. “Wearers along with rental and laundry services will benefit from garments that have an unsurpassed level of comfort and durability. Argo benefits by expanding their fabric range with XLA and Dow benefits from aligning with a leading fabric and garment manufacturer serving this important market."
The EPIC by Nextec encapsulation process places an ultra-thin polymer around the individual woven fabric fibres to provide all-weather protection without sacrificing breathability, comfort, hand or stretch. Argo said that combining these two “breakthrough technologies” had enabled it to produce a stretch fabric that makes uniforms more comfortable and durable, and offers excellent all-weather performance.
Argo will also introduce fabrics with Trevira Bioactive to provide anti-bacterial properties.
