Forum paves the way for big 2010 event

22/10/2009

The first China International Forum for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens was in Shanghai on October 22, running in parallel to the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics (October 20–23). Featuring a panel of international experts, the organisers, Messe Frankfurt, said the event would provide an invaluable opportunity for networking amongst trade professionals.

They also explained that the forum was a precursor event to Cinte Techtextil China, a technical and nonwoven textile trade fair that will take place next year from October 19–21 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, again in parallel with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics.

Messe Frankfurt said that over the last 20 years, China’s consumption of technical textiles has increased annually by 10%. In 2008, the total output of China’s technical textile industry was just over 6 million tonnes. Demand is likely to grow further because the Chinese government’s Revitalisation of The Textile Industry Adjustment Plan is promoting the application of technical textiles as an important component of its textile industry.
