New Schoeller division puts coldblack into workwear

Swiss textile technology specialist Schoeller has announced that it will display its coldblack finishing idea at the A + A workwear exhibition in Düsseldorf (November 3–6) for the first time this year.

Coldblack prevents fabric from becoming too hot and protects the wearer from ultraviolet radiation from the sun and the newly established Schoeller Works division has now integrated the idea into fabrics for uniforms, fashionable corporate wear and protective workwear.

“The difference becomes obvious very quickly,” says Antonio Gatti, business unit manager at Schoeller Works, “because workwear is often produced in dark colours. Therefore, when the sun beats down and the temperature of the clothing rises, workers quickly begin to perspire and correspondingly, their concentration and performance capacities drop. Lower efficiency, a feeling of discomfort and longer breaks are the consequence.”
