Pearl Izumi launches new baselayer system

Specialist cycling apparel manufacturer Pearl Izumi has launched a new short-sleeved baselayer system called Barrier.
The new product combines a next-to-skin windproof front panel and the brand’s propietary PRO Transfer Fabric with Minerale—a polyester fabric that features a porous yarn structure for moisture transfer and odour control—to create what Pearl Izumi calls a protective layering system that can perform in the most demanding weather conditions.
In addition, the company claims that Minerale dries twice as fast as standard polyester and three times faster than clothing made from a mix of polyester and cotton.
Barrier also has an anatomic ‘close-to-body’ fit and UPF 30+ sun protection.
