Oxylane looks to the future

26/10/2009

Motion-sensing technology specialist Movea SA has announced a new partnership with Oxylane, the parent group of sports apparel manufacturer and retailer Decathlon. The companies have said they will work together to develop high-tech products dedicated to “the sport of the future”.

Under the terms of the agreement, Oxylane will gain access to the most advanced motion-sensing technology on the market for use in athletic equipment and apparel sold in its Decathlon stores. To develop the pioneering athletic equipment, Movea will work directly with Oxylane product designers.

Movea products use microsensor measurement devices that can record and analyse human motion. The MotionPod, for example, includes a body movement control and measurement module for medical professionals. The Grenoble-based company’s solutions are, it says, already firmly established in the health sector.

Its hope is that this new agreement will help it make an equal impact in the sports market.
