Italian warp-knitted fabric manufacturer Carvico recently launched Igloo, a new opaque white polyester fabric designed to wrap around and protect the athlete’s body like a second skin while also providing freedom of movement.

According to the company, the fabric’s structure gives 80% more coverage than other traditional white fabrics of the same weight. It is suitable for transfer printing and maintains its brilliant whiteness over time. It is said to be abrasion resistant and keeps its flexibility, even after printing.

The fabric is largely aimed at swimming and watersports participants and contains Xtra Life Lycra (13%) for its chlorine resistance, fit and recovery properties.
