New flame-resistant fabric at Milliken
Textile and chemical manufacturer Milliken & Company has launched a new lightweight, flame-resistant (FR) fabric as part of its Amplitude line of high-performance workwear fabrics.
According to the company, the new fabric is one of the lightest 88/12 cotton/nylon fabrics to be recognised by safety standards organisation UL for compliance to NFPA 70E electric arc and NFPA 2112 flash fire protective clothing. This fabric is made in the US and has the same benefits as other Amplitude fabrics: a soft hand, breathability and durability. The manufacturing process for the new fabrics is ammonia-free.
“Our customers want fabrics that provide a substantial degree of FR protection as well as enhanced comfort and improved aesthetics,” said Jack Spoon, business leader for Milliken Workwear. “Our new lightweight Amplitude fabric delivers a unique combination of capabilities providing the wearer breakthrough performance, protection and comfort.”
