New performance footwear at Timberland

Timberland has launched its Washington Summit Series, part of the company’s outdoor performance footwear range.

According to the company, a team of its designers and engineers spent a weekend on Mount Washington, the highest peak in New England, to help them understand better what is needed to persevere in extreme conditions. After several months of fine-tuning, they believe the new boot is able to insulate, provide protection from the elements and to last.

The new model is a “mid” hiking boot suitable for all-year-round use. It is made from full-grain leather with fabric inserts and incorporates a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex membrane with durable nylon and 50% recycled PET linings.

Other special features include a removable OrthoLite footbed, a full-length EVA midsole with a polyurethane heel insert for stability and Vibram lugs combined with the Vibram EcoStep outsole.
