Munich-based chemical company Wacker is raising its presence in India by opening a technical centre in Goregaon, Mumbai.

The facility will serve as a regional competence centre for developments and applications in the textile coatings, construction, coatings and plastics industries.
“The Mumbai technical centre is another important milestone in our growth strategy for Asia and particularly India,” explained Willhelm Sittenthaler, executive board member responsible for Asia, at the opening ceremony. He said the objective is to meet the individual needs of Indian customers locally and to support and test new applications.

In 2008, Wacker generated annual sales of nearly €50 million with more than 140 employees in India.
