Itochu increases stake in Descente

Japanese textile trader Itochu Corp has increased its stake in Japanese sportswear company Descente. Its stake has increased from 18.7% to 22.67%.

According to reports, it now hopes to become more involved in the day-to-day running of the sports apparel firm and to raise its profile overseas.

Descente was founded in 1935 and has more than 700 employees.
