Xtep opens Disney Sport in Hong Kong

Chinese fashion sportswear firm Xtep has opened its first Disney Sport flagship store in Hong Kong. The outlet opened on November 16 at Telford Plaza, Kowloon Bay.

Xtep designs, develops, manufactures and sells sportswear under the Xtep brand, which includes footwear, apparel and accessories targeting the youth market. In 2006, it also became a licensee of the Disney Sport brand and now has more than 400 Disney Sport brand shops in addition to its 5,400 Xtep brand shops.

Chairman and CEO, Ding Shui-po, said: "Our sales network covers 31 provinces and municipal cities in mainland China; certainly the next step is to explore overseas markets. Hong Kong is an irreplaceable financial centre and commercial hub, which is the key reason for us to choose to list in Hong Kong."

He continued: "One of our long-term objectives is to become an international multi-brand sportswear brand operator. We have set up an experienced global marketing team in Hong Kong. With the edge of Hong Kong's strategic geographical location and excellent global transportation network, we plan to further expand our business to emerging markets including the Middle East and Southeast Asia countries.”
