Student workwear design competiton under way

14/12/2009

Finnish textile services company Lindström has launched its 2010 workwear design competition. The task is to design a “brand-enhancing workwear collection” for the maintenance crew of another Finnish company, engineering group Kone Corporation.

For Lindström, the purpose of the competition is to bring new ideas and innovative solutions to workwear, as well as spark conversation about the significance of everyday design. This is the fifth annual edition of the competition, which is open to design students from 20 design schools across Europe, Asia and North America.

The winner will be announced at an award ceremony in June 2010, where all the designs will be shown at a catwalk presentation. The winner will receive a paid traineeship at Lindström’s design department worth €5,000, or if the winner is not able to accept the position, he or she will receive a cash prize of €4,000.
