Rieter Textile Systems, the Swiss industrial group that develops and produces machinery and systems for manufacturing yarns, has announced the result of its annual Rieter Award for 2009.
The Rieter Award has been presented annually since 1989 to students and young professionals in the field of textile engineering. The programme’s aim is to support textile education, to encourage young people into the industry, and to create a dialogue with students around the world, their institutions and the company.
The award winners are selected in close cooperation with universities and professors worldwide. Those chosen are students and young professionals in the field of textile engineering who have distinguished themselves through soundly based academic work and great commitment. A good knowledge of English is also a prerequisite. The winners are invited to travel to Switzerland to present their graduation theses in Winterthur, where Rieter has its headquarters.
The four Rieter Award Winners for 2009 are Ajit Singh (India), Caio Sado (Brazil), Saidur Rahman (Bangladesh) and Bakhriddin Turakulov (Kazakhstan).
