Disappointing quarter for Quiksilver

Sports and outdoor apparel and accessories group Quiksilver has reported lower sales and margins for the fourth quarter of its most recent business year.

For the quarter ended October 31, the company reported a loss of $1.8 million on revenues that decreased by 11% to $538.7 million

“Our fourth quarter was very challenging, as retailers bought conservatively for the holiday season and traffic in our own retail stores remained sluggish through October,” said chairman and chief executive, Robert McKnight.
