Good news for US textile sector
According to reports, demand for textiles and apparel rose despite the difficult economic conditions.
Demand for manufactured goods in the US improved in November, leading to a 1.1% rise in factory orders. Textile, chemical products, machinery and electronics were among the segments showing the strongest rises in demand.
It was the seventh monthly rise in factory orders in eight months.
However, home sales fell in November and employment figures were quoted at around 10%, almost double the pre-recession level.
