Expofil adopts new look

12/01/2010

Visitors to the upcoming Expofil event should expect to see changes. Designers Eric Jourdan and Francesca Avossa have looked at ways of reinventing the show, which will take place in Paris on February 9-12.

The stand facades, which are made from luminescent white DuPont Corian, feature personalised graphics that play off the show's logo and, up and down the aisles, are said to provide an immediate visual identification.

The two words behind the new look, according to organisers, are “begin” and “dream”. Begin represents throwing oneself energetically into creation and Dream invites visitors to give way to their imagination, to creativity, with yarn serving as the visible connection between the two concepts.

Thirty-three spinners and fibre producers from 14 countries have already registered for the February edition, which welcomes two new exhibitors: Turkish spinner Bamen, which has a spinning capacity of 750 tonnes per month and a dyeing unit; and another Turkish firm Canan Tekstil, which specialises in wool and acrylic hand knitting yarns.
