Founder of UK-based materials technology company d3o, Richard Palmer, says the company experienced significant growth in 2009 and that it has appointed a new CEO.

“I am pleased to announce that after a very successful 2009 when we have exceeded our targets despite the economic conditions, I have appointed Stuart Sawyer to take on the role of chief executive of d3o,” says Mr Palmer. “I have been working with Stuart as a consultant for the last 12 months. Stuart is a successful businessman with significant experience in building companies with fast growth opportunities. Having worked together I am confident our complimentary skills will enable us to really accelerate the growth of the company.”

The company’s technology has been adopted by a number of sportswear firms including Head, which uses it for tennis racquets and Held, which is using the technology in protective motorcycle clothing.
