Reliance to open dedicated ASICS footwear stores

Reliance Footprint, a subsidiary of Reliance Retail and part of India’s largest private-sector enterprise, has announced an exclusive partnership with Japanese sporting goods manufacturer ASICS Corporation.

As a result of the deal, ASICS footwear will be available in
India from April. The idea is to start to stock the shoes in newly set up, dedicated Reliance Footprint stores in major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi in April. The products will become available in tier-two cities across India
at a later stage.

On announcing the development, Reliance Footprint chief executive, Gopalkrishnan Sankar, said: “We are delighted to bring a globally renowned brand to the
India
with our exclusive partnership with ASICS. This partnership further enhances our position in the footwear market in the country. With this collaboration, Reliance Footprint will open six new stores exclusively for ASICS in the metros in the country starting from the middle of this year."
