Gildan shifts production from Haiti
According to reports, Canada-based sportswear and casual apparel company Gildan Activewear is to shift some of its production from Haiti to Central America following the devastating earthquake that took place on January 12. The quake reportedly caused damage at one of its subcontractor's factories and the company has decided to move operations to the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua as a result.
Production at its other two Haiti facilities, however, is expected to continue.
