India estimates slightly higher cotton production

The Cotton Association of India has said it is projecting the country’s cotton output for the year ending September is projected at 30.2 million bales. Each bale weights 170 kilos.
The association estimated that India’s cotton exports would reach 6.5 million bales, the industry association said in a statement on February 8.
This figure represents on the estimates the association gave for 2008-2009, when it put production at 29 million bales.
