More apparel launches from Mammut

Following the news of its zip-connected snow suit, Swiss outdoor and winter sports specialist brand Mammut released details at ispo of new jackets in its range.
One of them is the Herron jacket, a close-fitting winter softshell, made from what Mammut called “a combination of strong and elastic materials” (from the Schoeller-Formosa Taffeta joint venture, plus a propriety Mammut three-layer SOFtech fabric with membrane) to ensure comfort and warmth.
“Even when the temperatures plummet, the Herron jacket allows mountaineers to focus on what really matters, climbing,” the company continued. “The combination of [materials] ensures excellent freedom of movement and makes the jacket more resistant to stress at key areas. The pockets can be easily accessed, even when wearing a climbing harness or backpack. The helmet-compatible hood has a long, reinforced shield to prevent melted water from dripping onto the nose. Its brushed lining also helps to protect the ears and neck from bitter winds.”
Another new jacket, the Sophora, is perfect for women climbers, Mammut said. It has brushed and moisture-transporting liner, is of hip-covering length and has pockets in the right places to ensure warmth at all times.
This jacket has a two-layer Gore-Tex performance shell and is “extremely hard-wearing”, Mammut claimed.
The two fleece-lined pockets can be accessed when wearing a climbing harness or with a closed hip belt. The splash-proof, two-way front zip, together with the removable, horizontally and vertically adjustable hood, round off the jacket’s protective features.
