Design competition enters new phase

Finnish apparel brand Lindström has announced the finalists of its workwear design competition,the Lindström Award 2010.
From a total of ten participants, the judging panel has selected five finalists who will now turn their concepts for workwear into prototypes. The maintenance crew of Finnish engineering group Kone will try the new garments out in the field.
The finalists are: Kati Joki, Laura Kunnas, Arja Kärkkäinen and Matti Liimatainen, all from Lahti University OAS Institute of Design, Finland, and Stanil Stanchev, from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design of the Czech Republic.
The winner will be announced at a ceremony in June, with the prize of a paid internship at Lindtröm’s own design department, worth EUR 5,000, or a cash alternative of EUR 4,000, on offer.
