Participant numbers rise at ispo
The 70th edition of ispo, which has now been running for 40 years, attracted a record number of visitors.
More than 64,000 international visitors from 177 countries attend the event. This was a new visitor record, representing a 7% increase compared with the same event last year. According to organisers, 68% of visitors came from abroad, an increase of about 2% year-on-year. The majority of overseas visitors travelled from Italy, Switzerland, Austria, France, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Korea, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
Exhibitor numbers were up 5% to 2,045 exhibitors, with exhibitors travelling from 45 countries.
Klaus Dittrich, chairman of Messe München, which organised the event, said: “We are very pleased with the excellent results of our anniversary event, ispo 10. The numbers clearly show how strong this international sports business network is. Even after four decades, ispo remains the “place to be” for the global sporting goods industry. In the future we will continue to expand our position with innovations and new concepts, like the ispovision and Opinion Leader concept.”
The next edition, ispo 11, will be held February 6-9 at the New Munich Trade Fair.
