Official FIFA stores to open across Middle East

Brand licensing specialist Global Brands Group will work with Saudi Arabian retail company Fawaz Alhokair to carry out a plan to open official FIFA stores across the region.

The plan is to open 14 stores in the course of this year across the Middle East and North Africa selling official merchandise from the world football governing body. The stores will be in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. In addition, a number of shop in shops will open across the Middle East for the duration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The stores will stock official FIFA Collections, event merchandise and products from FIFA commercial affiliates. FIFA Collections is a lifestyle apparel and accessories range.

The director of FIFA’s marketing division, Thierry Weil, said: “This assignment is important for the development of the FIFA brand and ensures that FIFA merchandise reaches as wide an audience as possible.”
