Winter Olympians wear Cutex with Coolmax

Several athletes at the Winter Games in Vancouver wore Cutex skating apparel containing Coolmax freshFX.

Athletes from Holland, Romania, Bulgaria and Italy wore the clothing, which is designed to provide protection from injury as well as keeping the wearer fresh and comfortable.

The fabric was developed by European manufacturer Fuchshuber Techno-Tex. Cutex protective wear is cut-resistant, making it suitable for protecting at-risk workers, for example those in the glass industry, or for sports such as short-track speed skating, where injury rates can be very high. The two-part fabric incorporates Advansa’s Coolmax freshFX to inhibit the growth of bacteria which can cause unpleasant odours.

Jörg Vois, Fuchshuber Techno-Tex director, says: “We have developed a special protective clothing with Coolmax fresh FX offering outstanding characteristics to top athletes of the Winter Games in Vancouver 2010. The Cutex Skating apparel has an excellent cut-resistance which provides more security to the athletes and offers maximum comfort and freshness.”
