AATCC workshop uses ASTM test methods

04/03/2010

The American Association for Textile Chemists and Colorists’s (AATCC's) Introduction to Textile Testing Workshop will cover tests of physical properties published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International, as well as performance tests it has published in-house.

The workshop will take place at the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina on April 28-29.

Featured ASTM methods will include tests for tearing strength, pilling resistance and abrasion resistance. AATCC instruction will focus on basic colour theory and measurement, colourfastness, colour evaluation, fibre identification, dimensional change, appearance retention, and water repellency and resistance tests.

The workshop will offer important theory, application and practice for those involved in product evaluation, specifications or quality control of apparel and textile materials. Attendees will receive a copy of the AATCC Technical Manual, and relevant ASTM methods.
