Huntsman launches new protective finish
Huntsman has introduced a new fabric finish that integrates stain repellence and soil release.
According to the company, Oleophobol CP-C is the next generation oil, water, and stain repellent finish for cotton fibres, synthetics fibres and their blends. It claims liquids simply bead up and roll off, and that spills can be blotted quickly with a clean, dry absorbent cloth.
The product came about through the alliance between Huntsman Textile Effects and DuPont and is designed to offer maximum performance with a minimal environmental footprint. It meets the goals of the US Environmental Protection Agency 2010/15 PFOA Stewardship Program and is compliant with the EU Directive 2006/122 for PFOS relating to restrictions on the marketing and use of PFOS.
