AussieBum goes bananas
Australia-based producer of men’s swimwear and underwear aussieBum has incorporated banana fibres into a new collection.
According to the company, the fibres offer a range of benefits: it’s a completely natural fibre and is relatively easy to spin. Fabrics made using the fibres are soft, smooth and extremely comfortable, it claims.
"AussieBum has a responsibility to continually research and develop new fabric technologies. Banana fibre characteristically enjoys good lustre, is lightweight, offers strong moisture absorption and is considered one of the most eco-friendly fibres in the world today. We are truly proud of our contribution to the development of this fabric. It's exciting and once again, delivers Australia to the doorstep of the world," founder Sean Ashby says.
