Green focus at Prancing Leopard

Producer of yoga, Pilates and fitness apparel Prancing Leopard Organics is launching a new promotional campaign to explain to customers why its products are different from others on the market.

One of the main areas it is focusing on is harmful chemicals, which it refuses to use. The benefit, it claims, is not only environmental, but is also better for the skin as conventional clothing can leave chemical residues on the skin, which can be absorbed by the body. Chemicals such as formaldehyde and phthalates, which are often used in clothing, can cause serious skin irritation.

Co-founder Sevda Holland says: “When exercising, the chemical residues in the fabric are worn tight against our skin while our pores are open and our circulation peaks. We feel the public has a right to know.”

She adds: “Organic clothing is where organic food was a decade ago. Now that people are beginning to realise the health benefits, organic clothing is taking off. We believe it all starts with fitness clothing for the health-oriented. That is why we focus on organic cotton clothing for yoga, Pilates, dance and fitness.”

She concludes: “Exercising is all about health and enjoying life. Just like your food, your clothing should be healthy and free from harmful chemicals. We create new styling and patterns which take advantage of natural materials instead of synthetics. Clothes that are fashion-forward, styled to fit and to forgive, and made of organic materials.”
