Messe Frankfurt focuses on India
German trade show organiser Messe Frankfurt is looking to expand its operations and has indentified India as an important market for textiles, among other sectors.
Chairman Michael von Zitzewitz says: “The Indian market has evolved and B2B trade fairs have become a platform for the trade fraternity to do business. India is a key market in the global map of Messe Frankfurt and we see considerable growth potential here.”
He adds "India is a very important and significant market for Messe Frankfurt. Indian economy is growing significantly faster than many other countries. That is the reason why we have identified India as a growth engine for Messe Frankfurt.”
Board member Wolfgang Marzin says: “India emerged as the second largest exhibiting nation among 139 countries at Frankfurt Fairs with more than 2,500 Indian manufacturers and scores of visitors, being present every year. This reflects the growing global reach of the Indian companies and the demand for the Indian manufacturers in the global scenario. Messe Frankfurt now endeavours to bring the global business community closer to the Indian market by having more international fairs in the country, which will bring Indian and global businesses together.”
In 2008, Messe Frankfurt organised more than 102 trade fairs, of which more than half took place outside Germany and four were in India.
