Pulcra Chemicals acquires DyStar location in Geretsried
06/04/2010
Four months after production at the former DyStar factory in Geretsried stopped, following the company’s fall into administration, rival Pulcra Chemicals has acquired the location and is preparing to re-start operations there.
By current estimates, production should begin again next month.
Administrators Miguel Grosser of law firm Jaffé Rechtsanwälte Insolvenzverwalter and Dr Stephan Laubereau of Pluta Rechtsanwalts GmbH, said on announcing the development: “We are very proud to be able to present an investor after all this time. Against the background of difficult general conditions and heavy setbacks it was a very hard process to find a solution that gives all parties an edge.”
They pointed out that Pulcra’s take-over will mean people in the German town will regain their jobs, and that material in storage there will be put to good use in the manufacture of textiles for industries including textiles, instead of going through an expensive disposal process.
“Being a producer of process chemicals we have a client target group similar to the one DyStar had in Geretsried,” explained Dr Yusuf Aktalay, general manager of Pulcra Chemicals. “We can complement our supply chain and offer new services to our customers. That’s why we are very interested in investing in this location.”
