OutDoor Industry Award is open for entries

The organisers of the European Outdoor exhibition (Friedrichshafen, July 15-18) have launched the Industry Award competition for this year’s event.
The competition, now in its fifth year, honours innovative outdoor products in nine different categories. Interested companies have until June 15 to submit their entries. Online registration and further information is available at www.ifdesign.de.
The categories include apparel and shoes, material innovations, products of high ecological and recyclable value, sleeping bags, backpacks and camping equipment.
As in previous years, an international jury of experts will judge the entries and to select the winners. The judges will rate the entries on the basis of degree of innovation, design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, environmental compatibility, sustainability, functionality, utility, safety, trendsetting character and brand value.
There is also a Concepts category, which is especially for students who want to submit “experimental drafts of yet-to-be realised” products and studies.
The awards ceremony will take place during the OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen on July 15 at 5.30 pm. All of the winning products will be on display in Foyer West at the exhibition centre.
