Italian technical yarn specialist to exhibit at Friedrichshafen
22/04/2010
Biella-based yarn producer Filati Borio Fiore has announced that it will exhibit for the first time at the European Outdoor, Friedrichshafen, from July 15-18.
The company has said that it will focus on displaying the line of polypropylene-based worsted spun yarns that it has had on the market for several years now.
Specific products include Isolfil, a 100% polypropylene worsted spun yarn from Meraklon fibre, which Filati Borio Fiore says offers exceptional levels of moisture management and thermal insulation.
Another yarn on display in Friedrichshafen will be Isolwool, which is 50% wool and 50% polypropylene Meraklon, and has thermal protection and resistance to abrasion as two of its main characteristics. Then there is Filactive, a two-ply worsted spun polypropylene, combed cotton yarn, and Spun-fit, which is 50% acrylic and 50% polypropylene Meraklon. Main end-uses for these items are sports, outdoor and work socks, as well as functional and thermal underwear, the company says.
However, at Friedrichshafen, Filati Borio Fiore will also present a new idea, a line of antistatic yarns called No-Shock. These yarns are carbon-based fibre blended with polypropylene or wool. The mix prevents the build-up of static electricity, which means the yarns can be used to make anti-static socks and other finished products.
