Cotton buyers offered China tour
28/04/2010
Cotton exports promotion body Cotton USA is organising a buyers’ tour of China from June 6–11 and is inviting European cotton buyers to register to take part.
The tour will start with what Cotton USA has called “a two-day private trade show” at which suppliers from China, Hong Kong and other parts of south-east Asia will display cotton fabrics and finished garments.
After this, participants can opt to spend a further two days visiting the mills of potential new partners to make sure their facilities are in keeping with the required standards.
“There will be opportunities to set up profitable, ongoing business relationships with suppliers of cotton textiles and establish links with garment producers who work closely with the fabric mills,” Cotton USA said on presenting the idea. It added that interested buyers should write to Stephanie Thiers-Ratcliffe (sthiers@cotton.org) by May 6.
