Swiss sports brand Burrda has announced a breakthrough into the lucrative English football market by securing a deal to supply official shirts, shorts and socks to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the next three years.

The Midlands club, which plays in the top flight of English football, will unveil the new kit at its final league match of this season on May 9. The Swiss company will take over from Le Coq Sportif.
The football club’s chief executive, Jez Moxey, said on announcing the deal: “We’ve listened to fans’ ideas on designs throughout the year and, together with Burrda, we’ve come up with simple, retro style designs, using state-of-the-art technical material.”

Burrda’s general manager, Charles Diab, commented: “We’ve always planned to enter the UK football market and when the chance came with a club steeped in history as Wolves is, we knew the fit was right.”
The shirts are made from 190 grammes-per-square-metre polyester, with lighter polyester inserts. Burrda says this combination offers high levels of moisture management and temperature control.
