Figures from Chinese customs show that the country’s textile and garment exports dipped in March.

Textile exports actually rose in March but were more than offset by declines in the garment segment. The month’s textile exports rose 6.7% on an annual basis and 10.6% on a monthly basis. However, garment exports dropped 19.8% year-on-year and 26.2% month-on-month to $6 billion.

During the first three months of 2010, China’s textile and garment exports rose 15.3% year-on-year to $39.3 billion. Textile exports rose 27% on an annual basis to $15.2 billion, while clothing exports grew 9.1% to $24 billion.
