Bursa textile exports rise

According to reports, textile and apparel exports from Turkey's Bursa province, in the north-west of the country, have of have grown steadily during the first four months of the year.

Textile exports from the region rose 13% to $309 million, while apparel exports rose 15% to $159 million between January and April compared with the same period last year.

The top textile export destinations were: Germany with exports worth $38 million (+8.5%), Russia with exports totalling $35 million (+26%), Romania with textile exports of $19 million (+30%), Iran with exports of $18 million (+5%) and the UK, with exports totalling just under $18 million (+21%).

In terms of apparel exports, the main export markets were: Germany with $37 million (+10%), the UK with exports of $32 million (-2.5%), Spain with $17 million (+23%), Belgium with $16 million (+27%) and France with $15 million (+5%).
