DyStar’s sodium amide production starts well
Germany-based dye solutions supplier DyStar produced its first batch of sodium amide flakes in Ludwigshafen at the end of April.
Sodium amide is an intermediate of indigo synthesis. The company acquired its sodium amide formulating technologies last year from France-based Rhodia Group.
“The product’s quality meets the highest standards”, said Andreas-Johann Schmidt, head of DyStar’s Ludwigshafen site.
DyStar CEO, Steve Barron, added: “Besides our technology leadership in indigo production, sodium amide will become an additional important production in Ludwigshafen and will contribute to a successful future of the site.”
