28/05/2010

New Zealand-based Icebreaker officially opened its first Icebreaker outlet store in North America in Woodburn, Oregon, on May 28. The company is celebrating the opening by offering free merino socks with every purchase over the weekend, and is hosting a New Zealand wine and cheese tasting on May 29.

The 1,403-square-foot retail store can be found the south-east side of the Woodburn Company Stores, which contains more than 95 upscale outlet stores and attracted more than 4.2 million visitors in 2009.
Icebreaker designs natural and technical outdoor, performance sport and active life merino apparel. Grown in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, Icebreaker claims its merino is the best natural performance fabric available for runners, hikers, snow sports and more. Its products include apparel for active baselayers, insulation layers, lightweight travel, outerwear and underwear, all made from merino fibre that is silky soft, insulating and breathable.
