REI designs family-friendly programme for outdoor fun

Outdoor gear and apparel retail co-operative REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc) has launched a new initiative called Family Adventure Program.

Families visiting REI stores can pick up free journals and diaries, as well as online resources that give details of access to local hiking and cycling trails, with all routes recommended by REI employees.

The organisation says it wants to encourage families across the US to share summer outdoor experiences with others in its online community by submitting a photo of their adventures. Five randomly selected photos will be awarded $50 REI gift cards.
