TEXbase names outdoor brand founder as new vice-president

Specialist software provider TEXbase has appointed Eric Rathbun as vice-president of global customer solutions. He will take responsibility for coordinating and accelerating all TEXbase sales and marketing initiatives.

TEXbase works with textile technology companies, fabric mills, apparel design and development teams, and apparel quality assurance organisations to help them manage what it calls material lifecycle issues. As somone who has combined a career in software with turning a passion for the outdoors into his own specialist clothing brand, Eric Rathbun appears to be a good fit for the technology provider.

He said on taking up the position: "With industry-leading clients such as [outdoor and sports brands] Patagonia, Under Armour, and [hunting and fishing outfitter] Cabelas, TEXbase has uncovered a strong market need for Material Lifecycle Management solutions, from concept to compliance. By delivering a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy software TEXbase has allowed thought-leading brands to take traditional product development and lifecycle strategies to a new level. I am undoubtedly joining a team that will continue to revolutionise the apparel and textile industry."

He comes to the technology provider with more than 12 years' enterprise software sales and marketing management experience. Most recently, he served as an enterprise sales executive at Microsoft. Mr Rathbun also founded an outdoor apparel brand, Reel Pure, Inc, which specialises in clothing and accessories for fly fishing enthusiasts.
