Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing has given protective workwear based on its Lenzing FR fibre to its own workers. The company decided this would be a good way to collect feedback on which combinations of fibre best suited their needs.

Affter what the company called extensive testing, Lenzing workers said that fabric based on Lenzing FR in combination with fibres from French aramid specialist Kermel provided the best solution for employee protection, comfort and performance.

Lenzing claims that its FR fibre the first and only black, flame resistant textile cellulose fibre available.

Partner companies Utexbel (fabrics) and Reindl (garments) produced three colour combinations to make it easy to recognise which department or danger area an individual employee was from as an extra safety consideration.
