Indian firm puts textile innovation into denim

15/06/2010
Indian company LNJ Denim, part of the RSWM textile group, has unveiled a new range of denim products, many of which, it claims, have technical textile attributes introduced to denim the first time ever, anywhere in the world.

The 65-shade poly cotton range has flame-retardant and anti-bacterial attributes, and another new range, Eco, is made of recycled and worn jeans. There are also denims with higher than usual levels of moisture management.

LNJ has said many global brands, including Diesel, GAP, Levi’s, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Wranglers, and Wal-Mart have shown strong interest in the developments. The company believes these technically enhanced products will prove popular in the workwear market; the fire-retardant products are already being used by firefighters in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
