Autex 2010 gets under way

The tenth Autex world textile conference began in Vilnius, Lithuania, on June 21.

Before the opening plenary session, the event organisers presented Professor Mário Duarte de Araújo of the textile engineering department at the University of Minho in northern Portugal with the Autex Lifetime Achievement Award.

Professor de Araújo is the author of 11 books on textile development and has been involved in several projects to promote stronger links between academics and businesses in the field.
