Free performance textiles seminar at Outdoor Retailer
24/06/2010
The seminar will take place between 9.00 and 10.00 on the first morning of the show, Tuesday, August 3, in the Deer Valley Salon of the Salt Lake City Marriot Downtown, across the street from the exhibition centre. The discussion will centre on the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of performance features in textiles and how these features can increase sales of apparel and accessories.
Concept III's national sales manager, Chris Parkes, said on announcing the seminar that although technology has been a major force in the outdoor and active sports markets, brands need to understand their cost and effect, especially in today’s economy. “Performance needs to be real and needs to be understood by the consumer, but it also needs to pencil out when you’re developing textile-based products,” he said. “We’re looking to shed some light on that subject.”
There will be two main speakers: Mike Sweet, director of technical development for Swedish manufacturer of odour control technology Polygiene AB, and Michele Wallace, from the AATCC.
The seminar is free and all Outdoor Retailer attendees are invited.
